With the exception of Eddy (the introductory fighter’s button-mashing delight), every character takes time to master. The roster is overflowing with characters, from series mainstays such as Lee, Jin and Nina to lesser lights like Baek, and each fighter has a wealth of moves. Not that Tekken’s characters don’t feel like individuals, too. It feels fun to control both teammates, and they truly feel like teammates. Where UMvC3 often feels like one-on-one fighting with self-preserving switches and occasional team moves, Tag 2 encourages regular partner switching. Additionally, you can now perform two-person throw moves.Īll these moves help the two-combatant fighting feel incredibly organic. You can tag your partner in the moment you perform a Bound, and the other fighter will continue the combo string, either automatically or because of a precise input by the user. Tag 2 also includes the Bound attacks from Tekken 6, moves that help you extend combos by smashing an airborne opponent into the ground. Tekken Tag 2 makes that relationship even tighter by allowing you to sacrifice one character’s health to perform an offensive dive.
